One Decade Later, Vet And Wife Find Out About Kind Thing A Celebrity Did For Them Prior To His Death

A military couple learned the identity of the person who anonymously bought them an engagement ring they couldn’t afford.

A decade later, the couple has learned that late actor Paul Walker purchased the ring for them.

Kyle Upham and his wife Kristen were in a jewelry store in 2004 looking at a ring that they discussed not being able to afford, according to Daily Mail.

The actor reportedly overheard the two speaking and secretly told the store in Santa Barbara, California, to put the $9,000 ring “on his tab.”

Kyle had started talking with a fellow shopper before realizing the man he was speaking to was Walker, best known for his roles in the “Fast and the Furious” movies.

“When he found out Kyle just came back from Iraq — I remember seeing the look in his face. He kind of transformed,”

said Kristen, adding that the actor buying her the ring was the kindest thing anyone had done for her, according to KCBS.

“His real life speaks volumes of his character,” she said. “He really did put his money where his mouth is and did good for this world.”

At the time, the store had refused to reveal who had purchased the ring, but after Walker’s death in a car crash in 2013,

Irene King, an employee at the store, wanted the world to know about the actor’s kind and generous nature.

“One of the ladies came out holding a bag and just said, ‘Here’s your ring.’ I think both of our mouths dropped,” said Kristen.

“When we hand down the ring through the generations, there will always be a story to tell,” said Kyle.
